Senior Director, Engineering – Engineering & Planning
The Senior Director, Engineering – Engineering & Planning is responsible for AIM Specialty Health’s engineering and digital transformation. AIM is looking for an accomplished and strategic leader with demonstrated experience transforming a culture of legacy practices and migrating applications to the cloud. The incumbent will work with stakeholders to design, develop and manage data, digital and operational capabilities in the cloud while evolving the operating model to match the business strategy. This leader will own the technology stack and software development life cycle. The role is remote friendly with a majority of the team co-located Chicago.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Planning, directing, and controlling multiple teams of resources and initiatives to accomplish the objectives and requirements defined by senior technology and product management across multiple teams.
Responsible for the planning and execution of companywide efforts and goals and the ability to manage to budgetary constraints.
Plans and executes annual projects while maintaining profit and loss (P&L) responsibility.
Interfaces with key technology solution vendors; develops strategies and facilitates performance measurement plans to optimize vendor and associate performance and outcomes.
Develops application technology plans, forecasting for an enterprise application, enterprise-wide tool, infrastructure, or a center or domain that is equivalent in scope and complexity.
Manages a domain or suite of applications (or the equivalent capital and/or level of responsibility).
Oversees strategic planning, budget development, and management for a single large or multiple cost centers, contract compliance, and any necessary integration of government regulatory requirements.

Ensures disaster recovery and business continuity plan are implemented, monitored, and updated on a recurring basis.

Ability to partner with business teams with the ability to tie back to business results.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key business partners.
Partners with customers in order to understand new product enhancements or features being requested.

BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8+ years of IT management experience in the area of function being managed; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
Health insurance industry experience strongly preferred
Strong financial acumen and understanding of Total Cost of Ownership for our business
Experience architecting and building scalable cloud infrastructure and processes
Proven track record of delivering platform improvements in a complex, high velocity environment
Strong web and mobile development leadership experience and have experience working closely with both product leadership and senior business leadership
Experience driving maturity along the cloud lifecycle
Proven track record of delivering strong business results and implementing best practices with a focus on compliance and security
Strong leadership and team building skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all functions and levels
