Performs analysis and research of systems and networks. Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions.
How you will make an impact:
Analyzes, troubleshoots, maintains and makes recommendations for Cisco network switches and routers.
Understands LAN and WAN technologies including security and availability best practices.
Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining some or all of the following technologies in a large enterprise environment: Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, WAF, WiFi, IDS, IPS, SEIM, VPN, VoIP, DNS, DHCP.
Creates solution designs that address mildly complex solutions to address business needs.
Develops standard solutions from business requirements and architectural specifications.
Designs complex system and network upgrades.
Validates the detailed architecture requirements for an application/technology to conform to the current and target architecture and standards.
Consults to projects and application support groups regarding architecture concerns.
Designs and analyzes mix of vendor services meeting business requirements.
Performs capacity analysis.
Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Multiple trade certifications strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Experience as any of the following is highly preferred; Network Engineer, Network Administrator, Firewall Engineer, Internet Operations Engineer or a WAN Engineer.
