IT Strategy & Planning Director - Advocacy (PS74588)

Location: Remote. Ideal locations include Virginia, Ohio, Georgia but will consider candidates from any area in the US.

Our organization (Whole Health, Advocacy, and Provider platforms) is looking for new talent to join our strategy and program delivery team, with a focus on driving enterprise consumer and provider digital transformation.

The IT Strategy & Planning Director (Advocacy) will be responsible for IT strategic planning, analysis, and execution of IT functional plans to ensure growth and performance aligns with the organization's strategic intent. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify opportunities to improve operations through technology innovation and advancement.

  • Develop strategies for implementing technology solutions that align with company goals and outcomes.

  • Develop roadmaps for use case development, prototyping, testing, deployment, and monitoring of new technology solutions.

  • Maintains an inventory of current technology offerings and evaluating emerging technology solutions to determine which solutions may be most beneficial to the organization’s long-term goals.

  • Partner with senior business leaders to identify opportunities for technology implementation in their departments; create sound multi-year plan with clear planning assumptions and accurate financial insights for the IT function.

  • Identify potential issues that may arise during the implementation process and develop contingency plans to address issues before they become problems.

  • Foster a culture of innovation within the organization by encouraging employees to think outside the box and embrace new technologies

  • Monitors and conducts research of related technology and business trends, using data and qualitative performance measures, to advise senior management relative to IT strategy.

  • Synthesizes annual and multi-year plans to demonstrate tie-back to corporate and CIO-level strategies and goals.

  • Conduct external research and engage partners across multiple departments within the broader enterprise to frame up potential strategic initiatives for investment or execution support.

  • Use forecast models and scenario analysis to analyze performance and develop action plans to address emerging market and technological opportunities.

  • Research new ventures and prospective service expansion opportunities.

  • Create executive reports that decipher complex technical issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Data Collection and Analysis, IT Consulting, IT Performance Management, Strategy or Financial Planning, Business Intelligence and Analytics, or Business Process Design; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • 7+ years of expertise/experience in transforming Consumer and Provider Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in developing multi-year business case/ROI views, and in providing recommendations in support of senior leadership decision making

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cross functional business and operations teams

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and accustomed to leading/presenting at all leadership levels (business and technology)

  • Ability to author ‘consultant level’ presentations/visualizations that convey complex topics with simplicity, clarity, and style

  • Strong healthcare business acumen, with a broad understanding of commercial, state and federal products, regulations, and functional ‘payer’ operations

  • Prior experience leading digital member/consumer, clinical, and/or Provider transformation

  • Deep knowledge of omnichannel platform technologies e.g. AI, virtual health, telephony digital contact center, WFM, CRM, predictive modeling, personalization services, and interaction management
