Senior Director, Engineering – IT Operations & Infrastructure
The Senior Director, Engineering – IT Operations & Infrastructure is responsible for AIM Specialty Health’s service mindset transformation and is passionate about client success. AIM is looking for an accomplished and strategic leader with demonstrated experience defining practices for day-to-day health with superior results and who cares deeply about customer satisfaction. The incumbent will support a broad set of systems and will be responsible for identifying gaps and creating mitigations for them. This role is critical in ensuring end-to-end DR and BCP practices exist and are exercised with cadence to meet all regulatory and business best practices. The role is remote friendly with a majority of the team co-located Chicago.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Planning, directing, and controlling multiple teams of resources and initiatives to accomplish the objectives and requirements defined by senior technology and product management across multiple teams.
Responsible for the planning and execution of companywide efforts and goals and the ability to manage to budgetary constraints.
Plans and executes annual projects while maintaining profit and loss (P&L) responsibility.
Interfaces with key technology solution vendors; develops strategies and facilitates performance measurement plans to optimize vendor and associate performance and outcomes.
Develops application technology plans, forecasting for an enterprise application, enterprise-wide tool, infrastructure, or a center or domain that is equivalent in scope and complexity.
Manages a domain or suite of applications (or the equivalent capital and/or level of responsibility).
Oversees strategic planning, budget development, and management for a single large or multiple cost centers, contract compliance, and any necessary integration of government regulatory requirements.
Leads the IT operational excellence governance in change management, incident and problem as well as RCAs.
Establishes relationships and maintains regular communication regarding delivery activities with peers, business leaders and other key stakeholders.
Supports transformation initiatives as we move towards public cloud platforms.
Ensures disaster recovery and business continuity plan are implemented, monitored, and updated on a recurring basis.
Ensures delivery and supports system solutions that support the continuous operations.
Identifies and resolves hurdles for assigned areas/groups according to established deadlines.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key business partners.
Partners with customers in order to understand new product enhancements or features being requested.
Commitment to building out a values-based culture where behaviors and results equally matter.
Thought leader that will help us drive ideation towards the technology vision.
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports. Our people matter the most!

BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8+ years of IT management experience in the area of function being managed; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
Health insurance industry experience strongly preferred
Strong financial acumen and understanding of Total Cost of Ownership for our business
Experience understanding and implementing cybersecurity and data privacy requirements across infrastructure technologies
Proven track record of delivering strong business results and implementing best practices with a focus on compliance and security
Experience with supporting and enabling product and project teams
Practical knowledge of ITIL and ITSM processes and implementation
Collaborates with technical and business teams for on-premise, hybrid and public cloud infrastructure services
Experience architecting and building scalable cloud infrastructure and processes
Strong leadership and team building skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all functions and levels
