This position can be filled at the Configuration Engineer Advisor or Configuration Engineer Senior Advisor level. The hiring manager will determine the level, based on the candidate’s experience and background.

Configuration Engineer Advisor

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for supporting the test environments used to support Regional, Enterprise and/or other special project releases.

  • Leads customer workgroups in defining environment requirements and maintains design documentation to reflect changes, additions and enhancements to test environments.

  • Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve performance of test environments and coordinates with other groups the upgrading of test environments to support production and/or product changes.

  • Leads overall design of test environments and environment build efforts for Enterprise efforts.

  • Leads Project/Release support efforts around data management, code management or job management.

  • May perform code migrations and prepare, merge, and version code for production builds.

  • Participates in ad-hoc committees to support Enterprise efforts and interacts with technical business partners and project and release management to meet business objectives.

  • Supports on-call team members for Enterprise projects and releases.

  • Handles/prioritizes work group assignments, staffing, manages work group workflow and provide mentoring.

  • Creates build properties and processes prior to testing.

Configuration Engineer Senior Advisor

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for supporting the test environments used to support Regional, Enterprise and/or other special project releases.

  • Assigns and handles customer service requests for all internal workgroups, manages and monitor environment processes for those workgroups.

  • Coordinates the upgrade of environments for large scale efforts and serves as group contact for major projects and initiatives.

  • Takes ownership of customer issues affecting EMS workgroup processes and manages and enforces processes to support ongoing process improvement.

  • Leads environmental build efforts for large-scale Enterprise project/release efforts.

  • May perform code migrations and prepare, merge, and version code for production builds.

  • Works with appropriate workgroup to develop SLAs and OLAs based on work assignments and monitors SLAs and OLAs to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Leads team meeting (in absence of manager).

  • Participates on ad-hoc committees to support Enterprise efforts.

  • Introduces other area to EMS services and rolls-out EMS process/procedure changes to the Enterprise as needed.

  • Analyzes scope of work requests, develops work plans, leads ad-hoc assignments and internal initiatives and provides leadership and mentoring to all team members.

Qualifications

Configuration Engineer Advisor

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and minimum of 6 years of IT experience, including application development experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Requirements

  • Multiple trade certifications and multi-platform experience is strongly preferred.

  • Rational Unified Process and Rational Tool Suite experience strongly preferred.

Configuration Engineer Senior Advisor

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years of IT experience, including application development experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Requirements

  • Multiple trade certifications and multi-platform experience is strongly preferred.

  • Rational Unified Process and Rational Tool Suite experience strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant hands-on DevOps experience required

  • Deep expertise in Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and DevOps solutions with solid troubleshooting skills.

  • Must have deep experience in AWS Cloud Services.

  • Hands on experience with containerized applications and container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Services ,terraform)

  • Ability to drive infrastructure setup of DEV,Test,Production & DR environments.

  • Hands-on experience with any scripting like python, shell or ruby is required .

  • Experience in Git, Atlassian tools (Bamboo, JIRA, Bitbucket, confluence ) Selenium, SonarQube, Security testing tools is required.

  • Experience with automated deployment, release management and configuration management processes are required.

  • Experience with Java/Angular/NodeJs/python/php application build and deployment into servers is required.

  • Should be open to Learn and apply new technologies and frameworks like AIOps , MLOps etc.

  • Should have great troubleshooting and root cause analysis skill.

  • Good understanding on Configuration management tools and processes.

  • Good knowledge on administrating and maintaining the monitoring tools like Splunk, data dog, CloudWatch

  • Demonstrates proficiency in Agile methodology (scrum) and sprint planning

  • Good communication and leadership skills and knows how to work effectively within diverse teams.
