Cloud Governance Engineer

Job Description:

Performs analysis and research of systems and networks. Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides advanced level engineering design functions. Develops complex solutions from business requirements and architectural specifications; provides input to set or amend architectural specifications.

  • Creates presentations and seeks IT managements approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major business systems serving the enterprise.

  • Directs the construction of architecture components (e.g., data architecture, application architecture, technical architecture).

  • Participates in the design of the enterprise architecture. Proposes opportunities to improve results based on targeted or continuous assessment.

  • Participates in enterprise planning activity, including vendor assessment, technology platform selection and retirement, prioritization and integration; routinely acts as a subject matter expert for executive management.

    Our desired candidate:

  • Demonstrate maturity and understand of CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP) and the perspective technology stack with maturity scaling production systems in cloud.

  • Work closely with Development Teams, Cloud Security & Compliance, Infrastructure Teams, etc. to execute on cloud offerings

  • Production experience in large environments using Configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation templates, etc.

  • Manage AWS AMIs including remediation and patching

  • Proficient with AWS networking fundamentals (e.g. VPC, TransitGateway, Routes, etc.) along with familiarity health-check services and cloud load balancers (e.g. ELB/ALB/ELB, ECS

  • Develop documents (e.g. Runbooks) for Ops and drive architectural best practices in AWS

  • Good interpersonal skills, team-first attitude, proactive, and takes the initiative to solve problems with some availability off-hours to support the business as needed

    Preferred Location: Atlanta, GA , and also open to all Anthem Core Locations

Qualifications

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years in one or more of the following: information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management required; significant experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required; broad-based experience to plan and design highly complex systems; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
